Who I Am
I was born in Jamaica, where fashion wasn't a hobby — it was a language. My mother and grandmother were dressmakers, and I grew up watching them transform fabric into something that made women stand taller, feel seen, and walk differently. That's where I learned that clothing carries meaning long before it carries a trend.
I moved to Florida at 15, and spent the next decade building a career in high-end retail — learning the business of fashion from the inside, understanding what luxury really means, and developing an eye sharpened by years of dressing discerning clients at the highest level. My aunts didn't hurt either. Let's just say style was non-negotiable in my family.
The turning point came when I discovered African, Caribbean and Asian independent designers. The silhouettes were unlike anything I had seen in mainstream fashion — bold, sculptural, effortlessly editorial. The textures and patterns carried culture and intention in a way that fast fashion could never replicate. I became obsessed. And I realised that nobody was telling these stories the way they deserved to be told.
That's what Mae Media is built on. I create content that sits at the intersection of fashion, lifestyle and travel — refined and editorial in its presentation, but deeply personal in its point of view. My focus is slow fashion from African, Caribbean and Asian designers — independent brands with real craft, real culture, and real stories behind every garment.
I'm not here to chase trends. I'm here to build something that lasts — for the brands I believe in, and for an audience that's ready to dress with intention.
